The Pratissoli KF40 pump is rated to run at 900 rpm to achieve the rated flow of 170 Lpm at 110 Bar maximum pressure. The electric motor on this M500-1444 unit must be controlled with a Variable Frequency Drive to limit the motor speed to 900 rpm.
The Pratissoli KF40 pump can be run at 1000 rpm to achieve a rated flow of 188 Lpm at up to 100 Bar maximum pressure; the required power is 48.8 Hp (35.9 kW). To run at this speed the pump must be fed by a booster pump capable of delivering twice the plunger pump rated flow (~376 Lpm) at between 2 to 3 Bar. In this instance, the electric motor can run at it's full rated speed and can be controlled by a Star-Delta starter, a Soft-Start starter, or a Variable Speed Drive.
